I just love this city centre with its wealth of 18th century history, churches, parks and galleries. If you like art and architecture, culture and the arts, this is the ideal city. Of course, most of it is reconstructed and the detail is amazing. Many of the buildings are about 25 years old if that but look so authentic. There are many great places to eat and drink, great hotels and you can go on a day river cruise to Meissen or Pilnitz on an authentic 19th century steam boat.

We stayed in Dresden for 5 days.
We stayed in Dresden for 5 days. We were there during the Dresdner Frühjahrsmarkt, so we sampled some of the local food and drinks- everything was delicious.
Our hotel was just outside of the old town and it was really easy to reach all major sights on foot. And we did some shopping too with many shops near our hotel.
We took a cruise to Blasewitz with a steam boat on the Elbe- it was a great experience. We also travelled to Görlitz with a train for a day and it was a charming little town near the "border" with Poland.

Walking through the old town of Dresden was amazing.
Walking through the old town of Dresden was amazing. The city center was destroyed in WWII and lay in ruins throughout soviet occupation. Dresden was rebuilt after reunification. It's like walking through the old city of Dresden, but everything is new and clean and nothing is broken or showing signs of any decay. Amazing. Apparently not many American visitors. Few spoke English. Added to the ambiance. Bring your Google translate app.
Lovely architecture; beautiful natural setting; great museums and music venues. Great food. Excellent public tram system as well as scooters to rent. I will avoid hostels and spend more money to stay in a hotel. I enjoyed the Hygiene and City museums. I'll be back for sure!

Very beautiful city.
Very beautiful city. The historic center is very impressive considering that it was almost entirely rebuilt after 1945. I highly recommend the Old Masters Gallery in Zwinger. This is an unforgettable experience!

Everything!
Everything! Easily my favourite city to visit in Germany so far for its sheer beauty. Amazingly I got last minute tickets to the Semperoper (the opera) to watch “The Magic Flute”.
The architecture, the food, the people are what make Dresden the special place it is.
The Hop on Hop off bus tours are great as they take you to the suburbs in the hills that you would otherwise not get a chance to see. Great views and a good cafe in one suburb to have a coffee.
This is a strange one , I’m pretty sure for most of the week I was the only guest .
It is located next to a road and in easy walking distance to the train station .
It is close to the airport and it is best to jump on the train at the airport and walk 200m rather than get a taxi
I had a nightmare journey due to weather conditions and got to the hotel past midnight and I cannot speak highly enough of the proprietor for keeping reception open for me .
There is a car park behind the building which is handy .
This is so far the best hotel we have stayed in Dresden. Nice to treat yourself for a special event. If you’re lucky or have some extra budget - get the room with the view of Frauenkirche and the square. It is good spot to just seat and do some people-watching. For cold and rainy days there is sauna on the upper floor… as well as fancy Moritz restaurant. Perfect location for Old Town sightseeing or Opera visit. Very comfortable beds and pillows… and pleasant quiet so you can relax.
Certainly the best place in the old town Dresden, highly recommended !!! Access by car super easy via underground parking. Super comfortable and spacious rooms. Fantastic breakfast, not cheap but still good value for money. Nice people at reception ready to help with everything - really super positive vibe. Rooftop bar is must visit - try the cocktails, bartender is doing magic.
Stayed here in February for the bobsleigh World Cup in Altenberg.
A really easy 30/40 minutes from the airport: Train to Dresden Mitte, and tram 1, 2, or bus 68 to Postplatz.
Room rates, rooms, and staff are all fantastic. Location also brilliant: Two minutes to old town, public transport, bars, restaurants, convenience store, pharmacy, and...The Hoff!.
nice hotel and nice room, the public transport is very convince. 15 minus way go to the center train station and city centre by tram. The boss is very nice. I lost my smart phone charge scoket on the way to Dresden. The boss borrow his scoket to me. Next time when I travel to Dresden, I would like to order this hotel again.
The bathroom was roomy with a good shower, and the bed was surprisingly soft and we slept well. A nice feature was the free parking, where guests could park across the road. The hotel was also very well situated near a tram station, making it an excellent point of departure for going to the city centre in Dresden.
A cosy hotel just next to Dresden Mitte station (you can watch trains from the room, a cool option for railway fans), 10 minutes walk from historical Old Town. Nicely furnished rooms & bathrooms, very tasty breakfast buffet, very helpful reception staff. Perfect spot for sightseeing and chillout
We had booked a room in Dresden not really knowing the hotel, area, or Dresden really, and was plesently surprised with all three. The main "attraction" area of Dresden is a short walk over the river, the hotel was much nicer than I expected, and the staff were excellent.
I loved everything about the venue. Great breakfasts, comfy rooms, friendly, English-speaking staff, close to both the city center and clubs/bars district. Around 5-10 minutes walk from the Dresden-Neustadt train station. Would definitely choose the hotel again.
The hotel is in a great location,in front of it there are differents trams which head to the old town. The room was really big,the breakfast delicious with a very large choice of food. I can only recommend to stay in this hotel if you are visiting Dresden.
The hotel is located in the center of Dresden, you can easily walk to the old town. Despite the central location, it was quiet and we could not hear the noise from the street. The breakfast is varied and the staff really helpful.
Premier Inn hotel is very conveniently located in Dresden… very close walk to the city center and river. All amenities available in the rooms. Comfortable bed and great value. We would stay here again. Highly recommended.
Location - a short walk distance to the Old Town (Theater Square)
Atmosphere - absolutely stunningly hospitable staff and the art design of all the hotel!
Breakfast - highly recommend. Very varied and delicious.
The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff very attentive. The location was perfect for city centre sightseeing. The full fridge was a bonus and I probably got the best night sleep in the comfortable bed.
Perfect hotel in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Excellent breakfast, very nice personnel, excellent location and best view of Dresden skyline. We highly recommend this hotel ❤️🖤💛
The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. We recommend this place to anyone traveling to Dresden for the first time because it is located in the old town center.
